It started with a book club. It became a community.
More than a book club.
The books brought us together, but the relationships and experiences we shared gave the community its heart.
Our gatherings became opportunities to celebrate one another, explore new places, support authors, have honest conversations, and create memories outside of our monthly discussions.
We've gathered around tables, celebrated milestones, attended events, welcomed authors, and built friendships. What began as a neighborhood book club has grown into a community rooted in connection, conversation, and a shared love of books.
Just getting started.
Passion & Prose is growing beyond its original chapter.
We're creating opportunities for women to find or start Passion & Prose chapters in their own communities, while continuing to create literary experiences that bring readers and authors together.
From local chapter gatherings to author conversations, signature experiences like Cocktails & Confessions and The Author's Table, and future virtual programming, our goal is to build a community that gives Black women more places to read, gather, connect, and celebrate.
The first chapter began in Laurel, Maryland.
But the vision has always been bigger than one city.
This is Passion & Prose. And we're just getting started.
Passion & Prose creates meaningful spaces for Black women to connect through books, conversation, culture, and community.
What we stand on.
